COPYRIGHT & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY POLICY

COPYRIGHT & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY POLICY

1. Purpose

Referelo exists to help professionals make better product, marketing and design decisions by learning from carefully selected real-world examples.

This policy explains how Referelo approaches intellectual property, copyrights, trademarks, user submissions and requests from rights holders.

Respect for creators is one of the core principles on which Referelo is built.

2. Our Philosophy

Referelo is not a content creation platform.

It is not a stock image service.

It is not a media repository.

Referelo is a carefully curated reference library that helps professionals:

  • research digital products;
  • compare communication strategies;
  • discover design patterns;
  • learn from real-world implementations;
  • communicate ideas within teams;
  • shorten creative and product discovery processes.

Every published reference is selected because, in our editorial opinion, it represents a noteworthy example of digital communication, marketing, branding, user experience or product design.

We intentionally prioritize quality over quantity.

3. What Referelo Does

Referelo organizes publicly available digital experiences into an easy-to-search knowledge library.

Examples may include:

  • websites;
  • landing pages;
  • emails;
  • newsletters;
  • onboarding flows;
  • pricing pages;
  • checkout experiences;
  • mobile applications;
  • mobile app screens;
  • feature walkthroughs;
  • push notifications;
  • SMS campaigns;
  • popups;
  • dashboards;
  • advertising creatives;
  • social campaigns;
  • AI interfaces;
  • user interface components;
  • marketing headlines;
  • other noteworthy digital experiences.

These examples are presented to facilitate:

  • inspiration;
  • comparison;
  • research;
  • discussion;
  • education;
  • product discovery;
  • communication between stakeholders;
  • editorial analysis.

4. What Referelo Does NOT Do

Referelo does not:

  • claim authorship of third-party creative work;
  • replace the original source;
  • sell third-party creative assets;
  • distribute source files;
  • license third-party intellectual property;
  • claim ownership of third-party brands;
  • imply endorsement by featured companies;
  • suggest affiliation unless explicitly stated.

5. Ownership

Unless explicitly stated otherwise:

  • all copyrights remain with their respective owners;
  • all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners;
  • all logos remain the property of their respective owners;
  • all product names remain the property of their respective owners;
  • all company names remain the property of their respective owners.

Referelo claims ownership only over:

  • its own software;
  • original editorial content;
  • original articles;
  • platform design;
  • branding;
  • logos;
  • source code;
  • databases created by Referelo (excluding third-party content contained within them);
  • metadata created by Referelo;
  • original AI-generated organizational metadata where applicable.

Nothing in Referelo transfers ownership of third-party intellectual property.

6. User Submissions

Users may submit references to Referelo.

By submitting content, you confirm that, to the best of your knowledge:

  • you have the right to submit it;
  • the submission does not knowingly violate applicable law;
  • the submission does not intentionally infringe intellectual property rights;
  • the information you provide is accurate.

Submitting content does not transfer ownership to Referelo.

Users retain ownership of content they own.

Referelo receives only the limited license described in the Terms of Service, solely for operating the platform.

7. Editorial Selection

Not every submission is published.

Referelo is a curated platform.

Our editorial team may decide whether a submission:

  • provides educational value;
  • demonstrates an interesting solution;
  • represents strong product thinking;
  • showcases effective communication;
  • contributes to the quality of the library.

Editorial decisions are subjective.

Publication should never be interpreted as a statement that one solution is objectively better than another.

Likewise, the absence of a product or company from Referelo does not imply lower quality.

8. Attribution

Whenever reasonably possible, Referelo aims to identify:

  • the brand;
  • the company;
  • the product;
  • the publisher;
  • or another identifiable source

associated with each reference.

Despite reasonable efforts, attribution may occasionally be incomplete or inaccurate.

If you notice incorrect attribution, please contact us.

We appreciate corrections.

9. Good Faith Principle

Referelo operates in good faith.

We recognize that companies, agencies and creators may have different preferences regarding the public presentation of their work.

Even where publication may be lawful, we believe respectful communication is more valuable than legal disputes.

For this reason, we carefully review every legitimate request from rights holders.

10. Removal Requests

If you are:

  • a copyright owner;
  • a trademark owner;
  • an authorized representative;
  • or otherwise legally entitled to act on behalf of a rights holder,

you may request review or removal of material available on Referelo.

Please contact:

hello@referelo.com

Include, where possible:

  • your contact information;
  • identification of the material;
  • the URL(s);
  • explanation of your request;
  • evidence of your authority;
  • any additional relevant information.

We may request additional information where necessary.

11. How We Review Requests

Every request is reviewed individually.

Depending on the circumstances, we may:

  • remove content;
  • anonymize attribution;
  • correct information;
  • update metadata;
  • replace screenshots;
  • restrict visibility;
  • request clarification;
  • reject abusive or fraudulent requests.

We aim to respond within a reasonable time.

12. User-Generated Content

Some references originate from community submissions.

Users remain responsible for the legality of their submissions.

Referelo performs editorial review but cannot independently verify every factual statement associated with every submission.

If we become aware that submitted content infringes intellectual property rights, we may remove it without prior notice.

13. AI-Generated Metadata

Referelo may use artificial intelligence to generate:

  • descriptive summaries;
  • categories;
  • tags;
  • search keywords;
  • accessibility information;
  • organizational metadata.

Such metadata is intended solely to improve discoverability and navigation.

AI-generated metadata does not imply ownership of the referenced creative work.

14. Trademarks

Names of companies, products and services displayed on Referelo may be registered trademarks of their respective owners.

Their appearance on Referelo serves identification, attribution and reference purposes only.

Nothing on Referelo should be interpreted as granting any license to use third-party trademarks.

15. Screenshots and Visual References

Screenshots displayed on Referelo are presented as visual references supporting discussion, comparison, research and inspiration.

Whenever possible, screenshots are presented in a manner that preserves their context and accurately represents the original digital experience.

Referelo does not intentionally alter screenshots in ways that misrepresent the original work.

16. Educational and Research Purpose

Referelo is intended primarily for professional research, education, inspiration and product analysis.

Our goal is to help professionals understand how digital products and marketing campaigns solve real-world challenges.

We encourage users to:

  • learn from examples;
  • analyze design decisions;
  • compare communication strategies;
  • develop original ideas.

We do not encourage copying creative work.

Originality remains an important professional value.

17. No Endorsement

The appearance of a company, brand or product on Referelo does not imply:

  • endorsement by Referelo;
  • endorsement of Referelo;
  • commercial partnership;
  • sponsorship;
  • certification;
  • recommendation;
  • approval.

References are selected solely according to our editorial judgment.

18. Policy Updates

As Referelo evolves, this policy may be updated to reflect:

  • legal developments;
  • editorial improvements;
  • technological changes;
  • new Services;
  • AI capabilities;
  • operational improvements.
